Julie Hanss, MHC-LP
Psychotherapist
I am a queer, trans, white, neurodivergent person who is here to support and explore your internal world with you. As a queer trans person, I never felt completely understood by my therapists growing up, and, as a result, I want to provide a reliable, secure, and affirmative support system for others. I believe that therapy needs to be intersectional, intentional, and collaborative. Mental wellness looks different for everyone, and what works for one client may not work for another; the best work is done when a client and therapist work as a team.
In our sessions, I cultivate an environment that is empathetic, collaborative, and non-judgmental, encouraging you to explore all of your emotions, even the 'messy' ones. My approach blends various therapeutic modalities, grounded in the understanding that early childhood relationships often shape and reflect current behavior patterns.
At the core of my practice is the belief that there is no "wrong" way to engage in therapy. Many people, especially neurodivergent folks, have been made to feel like they’re not showing up in the "right" way throughout their lives. Here, the way you show up is exactly how it’s meant to be.
